Famous Musical Moments

They came, they composed, they played, they sung - they rocked it!

Room 6 have been having music lessons this term with Sam.  We have been learning to play the basic chords of the tune Happier by Marshmellow.  What a fantastic afternoon we had performing to friends and family.

As well as our class performance we had a couple of other performances from some special groups.  Firstly, the Year 5/6 band had written and composed a beautiful song in response to the recent Christchurch tragedy.  It was beautiful and thought provoking and delivered with a real grace and poise.

Finally, the Year 7/8 Ukelele group performed a fun and lively song 'Old Town Road' with a hint of humour half way through.
All in all, an enjoyable afternoon.

An Inspirational Thought Inspired by Dr Seuss

Kia ora whanau, Here is a lovely poem that has been written by an anonymous person in the style of Dr. Suess.  Remember our parody work?  This is an example of this.  Share it with your whanu, I love the message this poem gives, I hope you feel the same.  Here are some ideas for the next two weeks of the school holidays, have some fun with your whanau! And finally, here is a suggested timetable that you may (or may not!) find useful. Finally, look after one another, practise kindness and keep smiling, kia kaha and remember our class mission statement - this is who we are and what we aim for.   Nga mihi nui whanau.   Mrs Salisbury
