Learning to Sign with Arla

Alongside our Te Reo Maori learning each week we are learning some of the basics of sign language.  We are lucky enough to have our own resident 'expert' Arla.  She is helping us learn some of our third language of New Zealand.  Thanks Arla!

Term 1, Week 5 we learnt to ask someone how they are.

We are having trouble uploading video to our blog although we video Arla every week doing our sign language lessons!
See if you can teach yourself how to sign your name.

An Inspirational Thought Inspired by Dr Seuss

Kia ora whanau, Here is a lovely poem that has been written by an anonymous person in the style of Dr. Suess.  Remember our parody work?  This is an example of this.  Share it with your whanu, I love the message this poem gives, I hope you feel the same.  Here are some ideas for the next two weeks of the school holidays, have some fun with your whanau! And finally, here is a suggested timetable that you may (or may not!) find useful. Finally, look after one another, practise kindness and keep smiling, kia kaha and remember our class mission statement - this is who we are and what we aim for.   Nga mihi nui whanau.   Mrs Salisbury

Together, Room 6 3/4 are rocking this Lockdown Learning!
